My Latest Book Haul!

Hello! I know, I know, it’s been almost a month but things have been hectic!

So I haven’t bought books in a while now because I was in a book buying ban, I wanted to make my TBR smaller before buying new stuff, and to be honest I’m surprised it worked! I usually don’t stick to my book buying bans.

Anyways how about we talk about the books I bought, yes?

First thing I got was the Percy Jackson and The Olympians series by Rick Riordan, now I know you were probably surprised that I didn’t read this series but. . . I actually don’t have an answer as to why. Anyway, I read an e-book of The Lightning Thief before going and getting the whole series, and you guys, I loved the book, I loved it so much that I actually managed to convince my friend to read it with me. Also, can we talk about how good the whole box set looks? It’s so pretty!

The second book I got was Wires and Nerve by Marissa Meyer. I have been looking for this book ever since it’s been released! And I finally have it, it looks so good and I can’t wait to read it after I’m done with the Percy Jackson series.

And last but not least, I got The Wrath and The Dawn by Renee Ahdieh, I’ve heard so many people talking about how good this duology is, so I went and got it, I also couldn’t resist not buying it with this gorgeous cover! It was calling for me.

And that was it! Have you guys read any of these books? Did you see a favorite? Tell me in the comments!

Bye!

Bookish Buzzword.

Hiya!

My summer has finally begun, and I thought I’d celebrate that by writing this post. I was tagged by ibookowl to do the Bookish Buzzword tag! If you don’t know that that means, it basically is, if you see/hear a certain word or a particular genre in a book, you’d immediately add it to your TBR list!

Hope that made sense, I will list down some of my bookish buzzwords:

 Morally Grey Characters.

Let’s be real here, no one likes the perfect-does-no-wrong hero/heroine, it’s boring and unrealistic, I like characters who have conflicts, tragic back stories, characters development. Yes!

Here are some examples:

  • Six of Crows duology by Leigh Bardugo.
  • A Darker Shade of Magic trilogy by V.E. Schwab.

 Retelling.

I never thought I’d enjoy a reading a retelling but I made myself read one book that had a retelling and I was pleasantly surprised!

Examples:

  • The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer.
  • Heartless by Marissa Meyer.

Nephilim.

I totally blame Cassandra Clare for this. I got sucked into that hole of never ending nephillim books, and I absolutely love it!

Examples:

  • The Infernal Devices by Cassandra Clare.
  • Angelfall by Susan Ee.

Superpowers.

I love superpowers, I love reading about them and I wish I had superpowers.

Examples:

  • The Grisha trilogy by Leigh Bardugo.
  • The Darkest Minds by Alexandra Barcken.

Revenge.

I love the revenge plot, it so interesting and most of the time it’s a bit dark with lots of death, and yes just gimme!

Examples:

  • The Young Elites by Marie Lu.

Poetic Writing.

I’ve only read one trilogy that had poetic writing and maybe some people find it a tiny bit dramatic but I live for it!

Examples:

  • Shatter Me trilogy by Tahereh Mafi.

I hope you guys enjoyed reading that, let me know what are some of your bookish buzzwords!

Bye!

April Reads 2017, Part Two.

Hello again! And welcome to the second part of my April reads! A quick little note, after this post, I’m going to take a two week break because I have finals, sorry about that.

And without further ado, here is the list:

6/ The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin.

mara

A solid 4 stars out 5, I loved how fast-paced this book was, I finished it rather quickly, I loved the book so much, and can we please talk about Noah? He’s amazing. I’m so sad I didn’t have the whole trilogy before reading it, I need the rest of the books, like, now.

7/ Shatter Me (Shatter Me #1) by Tahereh Mafi.

shatter

This was my 3rd time rereading this trilogy, it just blows me away, each time I reread it, it gets even better like seriously, how is that possible? 5/5 obviously.

8/ Unravel Me (Shatter Me #2) by Tahereh Mafi.

unravel

In this book we can see Juliette is feeling more confident about herself, and understanding what is best for her, and we see a lot more of Kenji which I absolutely loved. I also loved seeing Juliette and Warner’s interactions. 5/5.

9/Destroy Me (Shatter Me #1.5) by Tahereh Mafi.

destroy

I loved reading things in Warner’s POV, it was quite interesting and a bit heartbreaking.  5/5.

10/ Ignite Me (Shatter Me #3) by Tahereh Mafi.

ignite

Now when I first read this, I gave it 4.5/5 because I felt like the ending was rushed and it didn’t seem like the end, but when I heard the amazing news that we’re getting 3 new books, I changed the rating to a 5.

What did you read this months? And what was your favorite? Tell me down in the comments! Aaaannndd bye!

April Reads 2017, Part One

Hello there lovely people, how are you doing?

Yes, I know it’s 3 days late, but better late than never, right? (Not really)

I have read 10 books this month(*GASP* I know!), how did I manage to read 10 books in one month? I have absolutely no idea. I’ve never done that before. I’m going to divide to this post into two parts because of how long it is, I don’t want to make this longer than it should be, I’ll list down the books:

1/ Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them by J.K. Rowling.

FANTASTIC

I gave this book 3 stars out of 5, I loved the first part of the book, but somewhere around the middle I started to get bored, now I don’t actually now if the book got boring or if it’s because of my minor reading slump, but either way it was an okay book.

2/ I’ll Meet You There by Heather Demetrios.

I'LL MEET

Sasha Alsberg recommended this book in one of her videos, it sounded interesting so I gave it a shot, and I wasn’t disappointed, I really loved this book, I loved the relationships between the characters, it was realistic, I must simply loved it, there were some minor parts that annoyed me which is why I rated it 4 out 5.

3/ Until Love Do Us Part by Anne Premoli.

until love

I got an ARC from Netgalley for this book, this book had a love/hate relationship which is why I immediately clicked Request It, I love me some love/hate. While this books was enjoyable and entertaining, I didn’t love it so I rated it 3.25/5.

4/ When The Moon Comes by Paul Harbridge.

WHEN THE MOON

This was a tiny comic, also provided to me from Netgalley. I didn’t like it. 2/5 stars.

5/ Love and Vandalism by Laurie Boyle Crompton.

LOVE AND VA

Also provided to me by Netgalley, I actually really enjoyed this book, it’s about a girl Rory, she’s the one that paints graffiti of lions all over her town, you’ll see family relationships, friendships and more. It had its problems, but I rather enjoyed it. 3/5 stars.

So this is where the first part ends, I’ll be posting the second part in the next few days hopefully. BYYEE!

NEW SHATTER ME BOOKS!

Hey guys, I’m sure you’ve heard the news that we are getting 3 new Shatter Me books!

How freaking amazing is that? I literally freaked out when I found out, I always thought that the ending of Ignite Me wasn’t satisfying, it feels like something was missing, but now that we’re getting new books it wouldn’t seem like that anymore!

Apparently the name of the first books is Restore Me and it’s going to be set 2 weeks after the events of Ignite Me, we’ll see how Juliette is going to act as the Supreme Commander with Warner by her side, the books is in both Juliette AND Warner’s POV’s, we’ll get see more of Kenji and maybe learn more about his past, we’ll see some brotherly moments between Warner and James which is something I am dying to see!

GAH! I cannot wait for March 6, 2018, it will glorious!
